What you value is what you focus on; what you focus on is what you do or don’t do; what you choose to know, or don’t know.
What you focus on is what you’ll get more of. If you have a certain goal you want to achieve, that is where your focus should be.
I’m reminded of an analogy that demonstrates this idea really well. If you find yourself in a position where your car is skidding into a direction you know is dangerous – for example a wall, a lake – then to get out of the skid you MUST immediately change your focus from the direction the car is headed, to the direction you want the car to go. If you focus on the wall you’re about to hit – that is exactly where your car will go. But, if you change your focus immediately toward the direction you want your car to go, then the car will follow your lead and move toward that direction.
Determine today where you want to go, and focus your attention toward that direction, because if you focus on the problems around you, the roadblocks you’ve hit, then – that is where you will remain.
Focus on your goals and you WILL achieve them!
