The question you ask can decide whether you achieve what you want – or not.
Many of us ask questions that further debilitates us. “Why am I so depressed?” “Why is this not working?” “Why do I choose abusive relationships?” “Why am I always so unlucky” “How do I get out of this?” “What do I do now?”
Do you see the trend here? These questions wreak of negativity and a sense of helplessness.
Where in this muddle of negativity would you ever hope to move out of whatever situation you’re in? I was going to say, “that you find yourself in.” But with all due respect, most of the times we “find” ourselves in something is because we “choose” to be there. Not on purpose mind you. Sometimes we are not even aware that we are making these choices because they have become our “default” reaction, and we do them without thinking; operating on automatic.
But, consider this. If we want to really make a change into the direction that we actually want to go, we first have to ask the kind of question that will get us there. First, we have to be AWARE of what isn’t working, and then we ask the question, “Where or who, do I want to be when all is said and done?
Now – most of us usually ask, “What do I need to DO? But if you do not know where you want to be – no matter what we do – we will NEVER get there!
So – the better question is, “Where/who do I want to be?” Only then can you know or determine the steps you will need to take to get there!
So – until next time. Keep asking the RIGHT questions, because only then can you determine whether you will get to where you want to be.
And, don’t focus on fighting the old – instead focus on the creation of the new!
In the meantime, “Walk good my friend!” (Jamaican for: Be safe).
