Setting goal is the first step in turning the invisible, into the visible. Someone describes a goal as a dream with a deadline. People with goals succeed because they know where they are going. After you write down your goals, create the steps you will use as your road maps that will guide you to your desired destination – because a goal without a plan is just a wish. Without goals and plans, you’re like a ship that has set sailed without a destination.
· Do it today, because planning to do it tomorrow may never happen, because when you get to tomorrow – it will be today.
· Work those steps every day! When you’ve written down your goal, you need to develop the discipline, which is the bridge between your goals and accomplishment. Action without planning is fatal, but planning without action is futile. Once you have your goal, focus on your goal; don’t look in any other direction, look only ahead of you toward your final destination. Success doesn’t happen overnight; keep your eye on the prize and don’t’ look back!
· Remember you cannot get 100% results with only 50% commitment. Decide to achieve your goal – don’t hope to achieve it. Review your goals twice every day in order to maintain the focus required to achieve them.
· Don’t allow life to change your goals, because achieving your goal can be life- changing. In fact, if people are not laughing at your goals, your goals are too small! Set a goal so big that you can’t achieve, until you grow into the person who can achieve it. Bob Proctor says it this way, “Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating, that it excites you and scares you at the same time.” In creating your goal with a destination in mind, all you need to get there, is a plan, a road map, and the courage to press on to your destination! If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan but never the goal. What you get by achieving your goals is never as important as who you become by achieving your goals. Remember, nothing worth having comes easy. Create a vision that makes you want to jump out of bed in the mornings; a vision you’re so passionate about that time becomes insignificant! If it’s important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse. To accomplish great things, you must not only act, not only plan, but also believe you can do it. We must not compare ourselves with others, because we can never be another person; we can only become the very best version of ourselves possible. Determine what you want, why you want it, and when you want it, and utilize that passion to achieve it! Will it be easy? Not at all! Worth it? Absolutely!
· Goals are like magnets. They’ll attract the things that make them come true.
· Estee Lauder said, “When I thought I could not go on, I forced myself to keep going. My success is based on persistence, not luck.”
