CHAPTER IV: DATA ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION

Hi again Everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well. Today I want to discuss the Data Analysis chapter of the dissertation.

I’ve copied my example below for ease of reference. Remember however, that depending on the methodology you use, your data analysis section will be different. Quantitative Methodologies will have more charts depicting tables with numerical values and regularity of occurrences. Quantitative will focus more on descriptive data, but will also outline regularity of occurrences among participants.

Creswell (2013) is a good resource to assist you with the different methodologies.

So let me give you a cursory tour of my Data Analysis chapter  below.

You will see that I started out with the header: Data Analysis. Basically what this addresses is the reason I used this methodology; explain the term of methodology, and how it was used to examine the data. Out of this study came several themes that were common across all the participant’s experiences; these are the themes that are detailed below. There were major themes, and within that theme you will have sub-themes.

For example, the decision to do Doctoral studies: Reasons Vary – is a major theme. Within that theme I discovered a few participant’s experience was that: “Many Things Converged to Make it “The right time”  to do doctoral studies; perhaps their children were now in college and they had more time to focus on themselves.”

At the end there is a stigmatization of all that was found from the data collected, as well as an introduction to what the next chapter would address.

Well, I hope that helped to clarify the purpose of the data analysis chapter. Next – I will focus on Chapter V.

Until then – “Feel the FEAR, and DO it anyway!”
